The ambivalence in this painting invites the viewer to projects himself into two conflicting spatial planes existing in one tri-dimensional construction. There is the perception of being in a cave looking out at the light behind roots and dripping water, and at the same time being in space looking at the immensity of the universe. The imagery used and the tensions created by the existence of these spatial planes create a perceptual disorientation that is both unsettling and calming. One recalls atavistic responses of security through the symbolism of the cave and the other invites you to travel through an atmospheric scene, beyond the physicality of matter in an dimension difficult to comprehend.
